On Friday, a tragic incident occurred in Anand district, Gujarat, where two workers lost their lives due to toxic gas exposure while cleaning a tank at a food processing factory. According to police reports, the incident took place at the waste treatment facility of Ekta Fresh Food Company located in Sokhda village, within the Khambhat taluka.
An official stated that the two workers succumbed to asphyxiation after entering the tank. Additionally, two other workers were hospitalized in critical condition and are currently receiving medical treatment.
A police officer from the Khambhat rural station explained that the incident unfolded in the morning when a worker named Kishan Baraiya, aged 27, descended into the tank and lost consciousness due to gas toxicity. In an attempt to rescue him, another worker, Arvind, aged 63, also fell victim to the gas.
Authorities confirmed that both Kishan Baraiya and Arvind were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
